Singapore Passport for foreigners

But there’s a conundrum hiding in the black hole’s infinitely dense heart. Quantum mechanics says that information about a particle — its mass, momentum, temperature and so on — can never be destroyed. The rules of relativity simultaneously state that a particle that has zoomed past a black hole’s event horizon has joined with the infinitely dense crush at the black hole’s center, meaning that no information about it can ever be retrieved again. Attempts to resolve these incompatible physical requirements have been unsuccessful to date; theorists who have worked on the problem call the dilemma the black hole information paradox.

It is one of the Singaporean government’s objectives to attract talent to live and work in the country. The government’s intention is for foreigners to make Singapore their home by becoming permanent residents.

There are defined categories of foreigners who are eligible to apply for permanent residence. These include:

  • Investors and Entrepreneurs under the Global Investor Program (GIP)
  • Employment Pass Holders under the Professional, Technical Personnel and Skilled Workers Scheme (PTS)
  • Spouses and unmarried children of a Singapore Citizen or a Singapore Permanent Resident
  • Aged parents of a Singapore citizen

Black holes are gravitational monsters, squeezing gas and dust down to a microscopic point like great cosmic trash compactors. Modern physics dictates that, after being consumed, information about this matter should be forever lost to the universe. But a new experiment suggests that there might be a way to use quantum mechanics to gain some insight into the interior of a black hole.

If you wish to invest and get residency in Singapore you may apply for the Global Investor Program.

Under this program, foreign-nationals who invest at least S$2,5M setting up a new business entity or in the expansion of an existing business operation or in an investment fund, may be eligible for permanent residency. Documents Required

“In quantum physics, information cannot possibly be lost,” Kevin Landsman, a physics graduate student at the Joint Quantum Institute (JQI) at the University of Maryland in College Park, told Live Science. “Instead, information can be hidden, or scrambled” among subatomic, inextricably linked particles.

The Global Investor Program is specifically for entrepreneurs or investors interested in making substantial financial investments in Singapore and is designed to attract wealthy foreign entrepreneurs and investors who wish to make Singapore their home.

Foreigners interested in working and living in Singapore may apply for in-principle approval for a residence permit by submitting an application before they enter Singapore, provided they satisfy the specific criteria. The advantage of obtaining permanent residence status is that the person is entitled to live and work in Singapore for at least five years.

Landsman and his co-authors showed that they could measure when and how quickly information was scrambled inside a simplified model of a black hole, providing a potential peek into the otherwise impenetrable entities. The findings, which appear today (March 6) in the journal Nature, could also help in the development of quantum computers. [Stephen Hawking’s Most Far-Out Ideas About Black Holes]

A person holding an Employment Pass in Singapore may submit an application for permanent residence to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) after two years of employment and residence within Singapore. This is a very popular route for professional and highly skilled individuals, as no substantial investment is required to obtain these passes. Once permanent residence is obtained, the applicant no longer requires an Employment Pass, thereby giving the applicant more flexibility in his/her employment options.

Under the PTS, an applicant may include their spouse and unmarried children under 21 years of age in the permanent residence application.

The company said that the recall is being done out of an abundance of caution and that it is unaware of any adverse reactions, injuries or illness due to the possible asbestos contamination in the recalled products. Asbestos fibers can be easily inhaled, and long-term exposure can cause serious health problems, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Black holes are infinitely dense, infinitely small objects formed from the collapse of a giant, dead star that went supernova. Because of their massive gravitational pull, they suck in surrounding material, which disappears behind what’s known as their event horizon — the point past which nothing, including light, can escape. In the 1970s, the famous theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking proved that black holes can shrink over their lifetimes. According to the laws of quantum mechanics — the rules that dictate the behavior of subatomic particles at tiny scales — pairs of particles spontaneously pop into existence just outside a black hole’s event horizon. One of these particles then falls into the black hole while the other is propelled outward, stealing a tiny smidgeon of energy in the process. Over extremely long timescales, enough energy is pilfered that the black hole will evaporate, a process known as Hawking radiation, as Live Science has previously reported.

Why Immigrate to Singapore?

Singapore is a highly sought after location for foreigners to permanently reside in due to its strong, stable and wealthy economy. Singapore offers a high standard of living with excellent health care and education. It has a relatively attractive tax regime and a strong political and legal infrastructure with strict compliance to Singapore regulations. Furthermore Singapore enables effective business relations across Asia and the Middle East. Foreign investors can benefit from Singapore’s lenient immigration rules, allowing them to gain easier approval for a residency visa than most other countries.

Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB) is in charge of investor immigration. Investor Immigration under the EDB is known as the Global Investors Program (GIP), which is designed specifically to help and encourage foreign investors into Singapore.

The Permanent residence visa category is the most sought after program in Singapore. As the investor program is not run by the Government’s immigration department, this levies long delays in visa approvals and enables the department to focus their efforts on facilitating investor residency.
